Woman mortified as tattoo mistake results in blurry mess

A woman has been left mortified after her 'detailed tattoo' turned into a blurry mess because of one mistake - but some people say it's her fault and not the artist's

Getting a tattoo is a big commitment, and since it'll be on your body for the rest of your life, you'll want to do what you can to ensure the ink stands the test of time. But one woman has found it can be all too easy for your tattoos to take a turn for the worse, after one simple mistake left her "detailed" ink looking like a blurry mess.

Nicole shared her tattoo story in a viral video, where she said she had been "excited" to get a small but detailed crown inked onto her leg just above her ankle. And while she loved the design when it was fresh on her skin, she discovered that once it had settled in, the ink had bled and ruined the intricate pattern.

The woman's video - which was posted to her @colenid TikTok account - showed two pictures of the tattoo, with one taken when it was first done and the other a couple of years later when the design had become blurred.

And she wrote alongside the images: "I [was] so excited for a tiny detailed tattoo."

She then captioned the clip: "Why did I not think bleeding ink was a thing?"

Many commenters on the video were quick to point out that although tattoo mistakes are often the fault of the artist, this one seems to be Nicole's doing, as she was unaware of the way in which bleeding ink could impact her design - especially when the details were so small.

One person said: "There is a saying. Bold will hold. Fancy tattoos only look good for a couple of years."

While another added: "Any detailed tattoo won't last over time but most people know what they're getting themselves in for."

And a third posted: "Well that's totally 100% your fault. You did not give the tattoo the care it needs."

But some others still believed the issue was the artist's doing, as they said they were likely using the wrong needle for the delicate job.

Someone wrote: "Sorry to say it, but your tattoo artist did a s**t job. I have plenty of detailed tattoos and they've never bled like that."

As someone else stated: "A lot of artists are now working with pens or cartridges. So they are easily going too deep and tattoos will blow out over time."
